Slower: Conversations about Art In 2025
Each time during the meeting, we discuss different, but only two, works. We invite you to look at them, use all your senses and interpret them not through knowledge (about the author, art history, etc.), but through experience and dialogue with other participants here and now.
The conversation in English is moderated by Karen Vanhercke - art historian and educator, in Lithuanian - by Eglė Nedzinskaitė, curator of educational programs at the National Gallery of Art. Participants are invited to speak in the language they are most comfortable with.
The conversations are conducted using the Visual Thinking Strategies method, which was developed for the museum experience by educators at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York, with the aim of making the experience of visual art and the interpretation of works accessible to everyone, even those visiting the museum for the first time.
